The Oregon Trail Game - Hours Remembered

If you had a chance to download the Oregon Trail Game - Then you can appreciate how much enjoyment this game really brings.

It isn't a World of Warcraft or first person shooter. It isn't about blood and guts and killing the other guy before he kills you. It is about bringing desperate, hopeful families into a new frontier where they can start new lives and begin building a nation.

Pioneers and pioneer history have always been important to me and to my family, and I spent many hours enjoying this the Oregon Trail Game as a youngster. The random events seemed to really be the part I enjoyed the most. I always hoped something good would happen and that I would be able to avoid the diseases.

It still amazes me that people would be willing to face these kinds of challenges to help build up a nation. The unfortunate cost of life of their journey deserves more memorial than I can post on any web site, but I think the Oregon Trail game does a nice job of helping to build that memory in a fun and interesting way.
